Connectivity / dock
An excellent dock cannot add display support your laptop never had.
The TS4 is a dense one-cable desk hub for laptops that can use its Thunderbolt bandwidth, display paths, Ethernet, card readers, audio, and charging. Check the host before counting ports.

It can replace several adapters when the desk genuinely uses high-speed storage, wired networking, SD and microSD cards, audio, multiple USB devices, displays, and near-100W laptop charging.
It is expensive, its display behavior varies by host, and 98W may not replace the full-power adapter for larger mobile workstations. Buying it for unused ports is wasted complexity.
Confirm the laptop's exact Thunderbolt or USB-C specification, supported external-display count and resolutions, OS restrictions, charging requirement, and the cable or adapter needed for each monitor.
CalDigit specifies 18 ports, a 40Gb/s Thunderbolt 4 host connection, up to 98W host charging, 2.5Gb Ethernet, UHS-II SD and microSD readers, DisplayPort 1.4, and three downstream Thunderbolt 4 ports.[1]
Skip it if a basic USB-C hub already covers one display and a few peripherals, your host cannot use Thunderbolt features, you need more than 98W charging, or your display plan is not explicitly supported.
